Kumi Naidoo is next Secretary General of Amnesty International

The human rights activist of South African Kumi Naidoo (52-year) has been appointed as the next Secretary General of Amnesty International. In August 2018, he will take over from Indian activist Salil Shetty (since 2010). Mr. Naidoo born in Durban was formerly International Executive Director of Greenpeace. He was also the Founding Chair of the Global Call to Action against Poverty and Secretary General and CEO of CIVICUS, the World Alliance for Citizen Participation.
