Rajiv Bansal to be new Air India CMD

The union govt. has appointed senior IAS officer Rajiv Bansal (1988 batch- Nagaland cadre) as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Air India for three months. He will replace Ashwani Lohani. Presently, Bansal is additional secretary and financial adviser at the petroleum ministry. Air India is the flag carrier airline of India, owned by Air India Limited and operates a fleet of Airbus and Boeing aircraft serving 90 domestic and international destinations. Mr. Bansal is a civil engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. He also holds a diploma in finance from ICFAI (Hyderabad) and an executive master in International Business from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi.
