Justice Dipak Misra to be next Chief Justice of India

Supreme Court Judge, ‘Justice Dipak Mishra’ will be the next Chief Justice of India (CJI). He will replace incumbent Justice J S Khehar (retire on 27th August).) Justice Misra will be sworn in as CJI (45th) on 27th August 2017 and hold the post till 2nd October, 2018. He enrolled at the Bar on 14 February 1977 and practiced at the Orissa High Court and the Service Tribunal. Article 124 of the Constitution of India provides for the manner of appointing judges to the Supreme Court.
